Crepe Paper Flowers

Saturday, July 14th from 11am - 3pm - Workshop
Learn the basic techniques for making beautiful crepe paper flowers.  In this course you will learn how to make three different flowers: roses, cherry blossoms and water flowers.  Makers will have the chance to get creative with their flowers by choosing colors, sizes and styles.
 
Instructor:
Alyssa Couturier earned her BFA in Fashion from the Savannah College of Art and Design in 2008 after completing an internship at Ralph Lauren.  After graduating, she worked at various theaters and venues on the east coast as a costume designer and technician.  She then attended the University of Florida where she earned an MFA in costume design.  Her greatest passion is to help directors of plays, musicals, and films, bring their vision to life through costume design.  She learned how to make paper flowers when researching hat decorations used during WWII when silk was in short supply.   She is currently the Resident Costume Designer at the University of Central Oklahoma.
