Instruction will include students’ skills in the areas of general properties of clay, throwing on the wheel and glazing. The objective is not to make pieces to take home, rather allowing you to get your hands dirty and feel what it's like! No previous experience in clay is needed for this class. (an introduction class is a prerequisite for instructional open studio)
Missy Hitch: Missy Hitch a lifetime resident of Stillwater, but more recently a resident to the prairie arts pottery studio. Missy started her clay/pottery journey right here at the prairie arts center. She is interested in learning and expanding her knowledge for all things clay from other potters, so that she can bring those skills into the studio.
4 weeks; class meets once a week for 3 hours (12 hours of instructional time)
Wednesday, January 6th - January 27th, 6:00-9:00pm
While enrolled in class Instructional Open Studio time is included.
* The instructor will be wearing a mask and participants are required to wear one too.
$110 members; $135 non-members
16 years old and up
The course fee includes 10lb bag of clay, use of basic tools on loan during class time, paints and/or glazes, and firing.
