Stop motion is a fun, accessible medium for all ages and skill levels. Ever been curious about it? Would you like to understand the technology better so you can teach your kids? If so, this is the class for you! With help from art instructor, Jen Johnson, you will create a jointed paper puppet using the template provided. As a class, you will learn the basic tenants of stop motion and practice making a short movie with your paper puppet (think yoga poses, soccer moves, simple dances, etc.).

Supply List: We will provide a supply bag that includes: a template for your puppet, watercolor paper, and paper fasteners for the joints. You will need to provide scissors and a pen or pencil. You will also want to download a stop motion application onto your phone or tablet. If you are using an iPhone or iPad, we recommend iMotion (it is free to download). If you are using an android device, Stop Motion Studio is a good application and it is also free.
