I create large, bold acrylic paintings using spray paint, acrylic ink, charcoal and found words and images. I rarely use a paintbrush but instead flood my canvases with layers of ink and water to create luminous images appropriate for the subject matter. My style is simply deep contemplation of the subject at hand and then attack and resolve.
My degree (and most of my life’s work) is in Psychology which leads my work towards the subconscious, mental processes, and intuitiveness. Although I am a figurative painter, what inspires me is what lies beneath the surface of a human being – their thoughts, fears, secrets - their hidden motives, and desires.
