SUMMARY:Robert Rauschenberg Spring Break Art Camp
DTSTAMP:20190130T225925Z
DESCRIPTION:\N\NWe will learn about the development of Pop Art and American visual arts in the 1950s and 1960s through a focus on the work of artist Robert Rauschenberg during this Spring Break Art Camp! Since Rauschenberg was known for his use of non-traditional materials and techniques, students will be encouraged to do the same! Participants will experiment with painting, drawing, sculpture, and printmaking. Camp will include a field trip to the OSU Museum of Art in order to examine Rauschenberg’s extraordinary stainless steel mural in their collection. We'll also explore the similarities between the visual arts, and music from the second half of the 20th century and create works of art inspired by these shared themes.*Support from the Oklahoma Arts Council has allowed us to offer the camp at a reduced price.A snack will be provided, but students need to bring their lunch each day. After care will be provided each day of camp from 3-5pm for an additional $25 per day. This is not instructional time, but books, games, videos, and drawing activities will be available. \N\N\NInstructor's \NLindsey Carter is currently the Art Teacher at Holy Trinity Lutheran School, a private school in Edmond, where she teach grades K-8th.
