DESCRIPTION:There many possibilities for working with clay off the wheel! This class will explore techniques of hand building using clay slabs and forms to create mugs, platters and lidded vessels. Students will also learn decorative techniques to embellish their pieces.\NPrerequisite: Intro to Pottery\NInstructor: Buck Dollarhide is a professional potter who has been teaching art for over 35 years. He minored in Studio Art at OSU and studied ceramics under OSU Professor Ron DuBois. Course type 4 one day workshops.\NClass time Wednesday's, July 10th, 17th, 24th, 31st, 6 pm - 9 pm *part of instructional open studio\NTuition **Free for Instructional open studio members - please sign up in advance though. Clay will need to be purchased. $100 members, $125non-members all four workshops.\NAges 18+\NSupplies IncludedClay may be purchased for $1.00 a pound. Students should have a basic took kit or may use the art center's kits. All glazes will be supplied. No outside clay or glazes will be allowed.
