Pastel Workshop with Jude Tolar, PSA, IAPS/MC*
 
Landscapes have a lot of visual information in them. This workshop will help you sort through the visuals and choose what is important for your landscape painting. You’ll learn what to include, what to emphasize and how to simplify. Other topics: creating spacial distance and atmosphere, color temperatures and values. We’ll work with your photo references and some of mine.

This year's summer camps are a playful pairing of art and the ologies! Together, we will explore the many ways artwork illustrates, aids, and even creates human understanding in fields as diverse as psychology, mythology, marine biology, and entomology. Each week we will take our inspiration from two fields of study, creating works that express and celebrate our expanding knowledge!

Learn the basics of block printing with linoleum in this 2 day workshop. Participants will be instructed in the basics of carving linoleum, inking and printing, as well as more advanced methods such as multicolor printing, multiblock registration, and hand burnishing. Carving tools and linoleum will be provided. Paper will also be included. However, students are encouraged to bring their own materials to print on, such as t-shirts or fabrics, other printmaking papers, or tote bags.
