In this class, you will be creating a reusable, long lasting, freeform screen that can be used with underglaze on your ceramic pieces (either on a form/vessel or on flat slabs). Your maximum image size will be 5 x 5 inches and you will have the choice to make up to two screens (i.e. two images/designs). You can create a single image or repeatable pattern so that your 5 x 5 inch-image can be used to create larger works.  Ideally we will play with a slab of clay and underglaze after our screens have been made.

In this class, you will learn to carve your own stamp from a linoleum block. We will play with printing/stamping them on paper. These stamps are also fun to use on clay. Come prepared with simple imagery, hand-drawn or digital, that you would like to work with. If you are looking for ideas, choose a design from a coloring book or use Pinterest for an image reference!

Come learn how to carve a mini rubber stamp from an eraser! There will be pre-carved stamps for you to play with as well. We will be stamping/decorating cards once we're done carving. You can use your own stamp in combination with others to create a fun design on your cards.
