Introduction to Wheel Throwing 2 will offer the continued practice of centering and creating a cylinder vessel. Demonstration and discussion on advanced surface decoration and glazing techniques will also be covered. This pen and ink course is a wonderful chance for beginners to learn some of the techniques of the medium. This class will combine simple exercises with more advanced work. This special, clay-only Art Academy is for 8-10 year old students who want an immersive clay experience. Throughout the six-week session, Clay Art Academy students will learn and practice foundational skills in handbuilding and glazing. Just as they do in "regular" Art Academy, students will develop strong visual literacy and critical thinking skills through looking at and discussing their own artwork and the artwork of others. At least three projects will be finished each six-week session.

Join instructor Kathy Shann for this fun, exploratory ink and watercolor class. Participants will produce three "practice" paintings. The results are always fascinating! With just a pencil, black fine-tip sharpie, and watercolors, the paintings come to life. Some drawing experience is helpful but not required.
