Prairie Arts Center

Professional Development for Oklahoma Educators

Prairie Arts Center partners with the OSU Museum of Art, the OSU Museum of Art Advocates, and OSU's Department of Art, Graphic Design, and Art History to host free professional development workshops and retreats for Oklahoma educators on a variety of special topics. We strive to provide regional K-12 educators with the pedagogical tools, inspiration, resources, and support to bring elevated visual art curriculum into their classrooms. It is also our hope to give teachers the opportunity to relax, reflect, and learn from one another.

Be on the look out for our next professional development workshop!

Community Art Kits

At the height of the pandemic, Community Art Kits offered families a way to create, connect, and find a sense of community from home. Through a partnership between the OSU Museum of Art and Prairie Arts Center, the kits brought creativity and connection to families throughout the community. Each kit provided the materials and guidance needed to make art together, offering a welcome moment of joy during an uncertain time.

School Programming

With OSU Museum of Art

Prairie Arts Center is proud to be in partnership with the OSU Museum of Art to provide high quality, inquiry based programming for our community schools. The museum's PreK-12 tour program encourages students of all abilities to engage with art and each other by looking deeply and thinking creatively and critically. This level of engagement is continued at Prairie Arts Center for a hands-on making project directly related to the exhibition. Supplies are included and instruction and facilitation is provided by the Prairie Arts Center and museum staff.

To schedule a tour and a follow up art making activity, please contact Museum of Art.
