February Mondays: Mahjong Open Play

Join us for Mahjong Open Play at Prairie Arts Center—a relaxed, welcoming space to gather, play, and connect.

This is open play, not instruction, and is ideal for players who want to continue learning and move beyond the basics. Bring your own
beverage and snack—we’ll provide the game sets and cards. Play will use the National Mah Jongg League card or The Big Card, table decides the card.

January Learn American Mahjong

Curious about American Mahjong but not sure where to start? This two-day introductory class is designed to guide you through the fundamentals of the game in a relaxed, welcoming environment. Participants will learn the basics of American Mahjong, including tile recognition, game setup, turn order, and how to read and play using The Big Card by The Mahjong Line. Instruction will focus on understanding the card, building hands, and developing confidence in gameplay.

2nd Annual Holiday Print Party

Join us for our 2nd Annual Holiday Print Party! All are welcome at this FREE community event on Saturday, December 20th from 10 AM – 1 PM. Spend the morning printing holiday cards and wrapping paper using our extensive collection of holiday linocuts.

Flood The Streets With Art 2025

We're excited to announce the 7th Annual Flood the Streets with Art event in Stillwater! Our mission is to make art accessible to everyone by spreading FREE art throughout the streets. This initiative, which started on Facebook, is now a beloved community event in Stillwater. Local artists generously donate original pieces, which can range in size and form, whether 2D or 3D. You’re invited to contribute your own artwork! On December 13, 2025, we’ll hit the streets with our Art "Wagon," distributing art for the community to discover. Keep an eye on our social media for clues on where to find these hidden treasures! @prairieartscenter

Holiday POP UP Art Shop 2025

Saturday, November 22 | 10 AM – 2 PM
We’re excited to be hosting our annual Holiday POP UP Art Shop a little earlier this year! Join us to get a head start on your holiday shopping and support local artists. Browse a wide variety of handmade works in pottery, printmaking, jewelry, fiber arts, woodworking, metalsmithing, and more. Artists will be set up outside alongside the Stillwater Farmers Market. Don’t forget to come inside the Prairie Arts Center to shop our Holiday Ornament Emporium in the lobby and participate in our free holiday-themed making activity—fun for all ages and skill levels!

Community Art Studio

Come relax and be creative in our Community Art Studio! Every Saturday, from 10am-12pm, we will provide the space and supplies for you and your family and friends to enjoy a making activity. Directions and an example will be provided for each activity, as well as a staff member to answer questions. Please plan on staying with your children, as this is not a drop-off class. These activities are free, suitable for all ages, and come and go. The projects will change monthly.
