Glass Open Studio is available to students who have completed Introduction to Stained Glass. Before coming in, please check the class schedule to confirm the glass studio is available. If a class is scheduled, Open Studio will not be available during that time.
The goal of Glass Open Studio is to provide a supportive, self-directed environment where students can work freely during regular open studio hours using equipment they have been trained to use. This is not a led class, but staff (when available) are happy to help answer basic questions as needed.

- Stained glass may be purchased through Prairie Arts Center or on your own. All glass is priced by the sheet, and we do not cut glass down. Scrap glass is available for purchase by the pound at $10 per pound.
- All glass must be purchased before you begin your project. Purchasing is done at the front desk—please bring your glass with you so staff can check pricing.
- You are welcome to add any leftover glass from your project to our scrap glass collection.
- Please do not open cabinets or help yourself to other materials. If you are looking for something, please go to the front desk and ask for assistance. This is a multi-use space, and materials are organized to support different programs and needs.
It is the participant's responsibility to clean up after themselves; any tools or supplies left out will be taken for community use.
The following tools and supplies are provided in Open Studio: glass cutter, running pliers, grozers, grid cutting board, straight edge cutting, circle cutter, grinders, rulers, cutting oil, copper foil (black backed only), black patina, flux work tables and soldering station.
Participants must provide their own project materials including: patterns, glass, glass accessories to complete project. Hobby cane or lead for finishing is not provided.
