On the 1st Tuesday of each month from 6–8 PM, we’ll host a FREE Sketchbook Session, a relaxed meet-up led by a working artist. There will be a fresh still life or themed subject on display in our studio to work from. This display will continue to be available for you to sketch during open hours all month long.

Bring your sketchbook and favorite supplies to:

  • Practice observational skills
  • Try new techniques
  • Share ideas and learn from each other

During our monthly gathering, an instructor will be there to offer tips, answer questions, and help spark your creativity. Whether you work from the still life, explore the month’s theme, or follow your own inspiration, this is your time to create in the company of fellow artists. Join us in August with co-hosts Catarina de Araujo, director of the Stillwater History Museum, and Prairie's own Jen Johnson. Cat will be bringing some interesting historical objects from the museum to create a still life with stories of its own!

A new still life will be available on the 1st of each month—come and sketch anytime, then join us on the 1st Tuesday from 6–8 PM for our group session!

This is a free event, but we kindly request that you sign up in advance so we can plan for the number of attendees.
