In this class, you will learn the basic tools, materials, and techniques, used with watercolor and gouache. Explore the differences and similarities between the two medias over two days by practicing techniques such as washes, glazing, color transitions, and fading. On the third day, follow along to create a cute card or design your own by experimenting with the skills you learned.

Learning the art of color mixing can transform your art! In this workshop, artist Lauren Florence will walk you through a variety of color charts: a simple matrix, a value chart, a circle, and a parent color chart. Class discussion will cover the benefits of each chart, the benefits of creating your own charts for quick reference in your studio, and the benefits of painting with a limited palette.
