Instruction will include students’ skills in the areas of general properties of clay, throwing on the wheel, and glazing. This is a class that will allow you to get your hands dirty, make mistakes, and get the feel of the wheel. No previous experience in clay is needed for this class. Its transparent or translucent nature can, however, be translated to paper or canvas when you know how to look and see. In this workshop, you will learn to see the unique–and sometimes subtle–visual information of glass subjects. This information will help you create the forms in your artwork.

Join instructor Kathy Shann for this fun, exploratory ink and watercolor class. Participants will produce three "practice" paintings. The results are always fascinating! With just a pencil, black fine-tip sharpie, and watercolors, the paintings come to life. Some drawing experience is helpful but not required.
