Everyone Loves Animals! Spring Break Art Camp

This year's Spring Break Camp will be a non-stop celebration of our love for animals! Humans have been expressing their connection to the animal kingdom through art and storytelling since the very beginning of recorded history. In this four day camp, we will explore some of the stories and artworks that feature our four legged, finned, or feathered friends and make works, both 2D and 3D, that celebrate our lasting connection to them. We will begin our week with a very special visit to the OSU Museum of Art for a permanent collection vault viewing to see animal inspired works up close and personal!

Students should bring a packed lunch and snack and dress for the weather.

Instructor’s name
Art educator Jen Johnson holds an undergraduate degree in art history and English literature from the University of Kansas, as well as an MAT (Masters in the Art of Teaching) from the English Department at the University of Montana. Jen considers her greatest strengths as an educator to be the facilitation of reflective and critical conversations about art and art making, as well as the creation of safe environments for authentic explorations into the practices of self-expression and making. Her preferred mediums are mixed media, printmaking, and photography, but she enjoys the act of creation no matter the medium and considers it one of her greatest joys to make art alongside others.
