In this class, you will use a torch to soften and flow glass over a metal surface, also known as vitreous enameling. The class will cover the basics of enameling and also introduce you to cloisonné, a technique that has produced some of the world’s most beautiful and iconic jewelry pieces. Cloisonné and other enamel techniques are not hard to learn when the right tools and supplies are in place, so you will probably feel very pleased with your first attempt! Your finished project will be a cloisonné pendant. This class is held two consecutive Wednesday evenings. The class is open to beginners with no previous metalsmith experience.
