Join instructor Missy Hitch to create and customize your own ceramic Bunny Gnome set! Give each of your bunny or bunny gnomes a unique personality and style. No experience is needed. All gnomes will be bisque fired and ready to paint with either acrylic, glaze, or watercolor paints by April 1st. This is a perfect project to keep for your spring decor or gift to someone special. Participants can make up to four gnomes.

Instructional Open Studio
The goal of Instructional Open Studio is for students to work freely within a flexible schedule while an instructor is present. Instructional Open Studio is open to students that have completed Introduction to Pottery 1 or Introduction to Handbuilding. During these hours students may come in and work, this is not a led class, but more of a working studio where questions can be addressed to instructors and peers. We hope to create an environment where students can experiment and get creative while having a community of support!

Introduction to Handbuilding
In this course, students explore the basic physical properties of clay by practicing a variety of hand-forming techniques used to create functional objects. Hand-forming techniques will include, pinch pots, slab building, mold slumping, and texture. The objective is not to make pieces to take home, rather learning what is possible and allowing you to get your hands dirty and feel what it's like! No previous experience in clay is needed for this class. (an introduction class is a prerequisite for instructional open studio)
Thrown and Combined Forms
If you are looking to improve your wheel-throwing skills and making larger pottery forms, this is the perfect class for you! This class will focus on the technique of making large vases by combining multiple wheel-thrown parts. Participants are encouraged to practice during Open Studio times and bring questions to class time each week. This class is advanced and open to members who have completed wheel throwing 2.

Instruction will include students’ skills in the areas of general properties of clay, throwing on the wheel, and glazing. This is a class that will allow you to get your hands dirty, make mistakes, and get the feel of the wheel. No previous experience in clay is needed for this class. Upon completing this class, students are eligible for instructional open studio time.
