Intro to Block Printing: Linocut

Learn the basics of block printing with linoleum in this 2 day workshop. Participants will be instructed in the basics of carving linoleum, inking and printing, as well as more advanced methods such as multicolor printing, multiblock registration, and hand burnishing. Carving tools and linoleum will be provided. Paper will also be included, however students are encouraged to bring their own materials to print on, such as t-shirts or fabrics, other printmaking papers, or tote bags.

Students who complete this course will then qualify for the Printmaking Instructional Open Studio time. Students will have access to the etching press, inks, brayers, and carving tools. Students, however, must provide their own linoleum and/or woodblocks and paper for printing.
