Join us this week as we turn our spotlight on the renowned work and life of Uruguayan-Spanish artist Joaquin Torres Garcia. Like Torres Garcia and his fellow Constructivists, we will break our subjects down into building blocks of shape, colors, and symbols. Some of our blocks will be drawn, some painted, and some will be wooden blocks put together to make people and towns!
Each week, our 6-10 year old campers will explore a different artist in depth, creating works inspired by their medium, subject matter, philosophy, and life. Each 4 day camp will include a combination of two dimensional and three dimensional projects. As always, we will learn a lot, play, explore, and expand our understanding of art and the world around us!

All art camps will run Tuesday-Friday 10 a.m.-3 p.m. Students will need to bring a sack lunch, as well as a light snack for morning break, and a refillable water bottle with the their name on it. We will spend some time outside, so please consider sunscreen. Campers should wear closed-toe shoes and clothes that can get messy.
