Fun with Fundamentals: Color and Value

Join us this week as we turn our attention toward the most beloved element of visual art there is: color! Campers will learn all about mixing and matching colors, go on color hunting expeditions, and experiment with different color palettes. They will also learn about artists who are known for their mastery of color- Vincent VanGogh, Henri Matisse, Georgia O'Keeffe, Mark Rothko, and Alma Thomas for starters!

Each week, our 6-10 year old campers will take a deep dive into the elements of art and principles of design. They will look at work by artists that exemplify and exalt these basics, as well as create their own original art that does the same. Each 4 day camp will include a combination of two dimensional and three dimensional projects and, as always, we will learn a lot, play, explore, and expand our understanding of art and the world around us!
