Even though returning summer camp students may be familiar with the theme, the projects will be new. Unlike summer camp, students may attend one day, all four, or anything in between.

This summer we are excited to announce a clay specific half-day camp for our 11-14 year old artists. Students will explore the basic physical properties of clay by practicing a variety of hand-forming techniques, as well as throwing on the wheel, and glazing. Two days will be devoted to the completion of multiple hand built projects, one day to getting the feel of the wheel, and one day to glaze. Please note that students should not expect a completed form from their one day on the wheel. This is a time to play and practice, get dirty, and make mistakes!

Join us this summer as we explore the artistic traditions and artists of earth's southern hemisphere! Each week students will create works inspired by the history, geography, culture, and art of a different country or region. Each 4 day camp will include a combination of two dimensional and three dimensional projects, and will be divided into a 6-10 year old age group and an 11-14 year old group. As always, we will learn a lot, play, explore, and expand our understanding of art and the world around us!

Like the people of this part of the world, we will also take inspiration from the Pacific Ocean itself!
