Calling all aspiring painters! Our Introduction to Acrylic Painting class with Mark Crow is the perfect opportunity for you. Mark will guide you step-by-step through the process of painting beautiful winter cardinals in a tree scene, focusing on techniques that balance a relaxed approach with semi-realistic details. Join us for an inspiring session where you can experiment, learn, and create in a supportive and fun environment.

This workshop is all about impact and play! Lauren will guide you through creating a 36x36 abstract painting using your favorite colors.  She will discuss color mixing, mark making, layering, composition and common tools to create expressive, impactful abstract paintings. No experience necessary, and no drawing required - we are focusing on color and expressive marks! We will complete one painting during class.  Canvases and tools are supplied but see the additional supply list below. 

Come discover the dynamic process of watercolor and ink with a one-day class at the Prairie Art Center. We will help you to explore the fluidity and abstract nature of watercolor while enhancing the designs with layered inking techniques. Instructor Lauren Oyer will guide you through a 3-hour course of creating a unique piece of art by overlaying washes of color and then responding to these compositions by drawing over them with ink and pen. Experimentation and creativity will be encouraged in this class and it is open to all experience levels. Whether you are a beginner who has never used watercolors before or an expert, we invite you to take this course and leave with a finished masterpiece.
