Introduction to Handbuilding

In this course, students explore the basic physical properties of clay by practicing a variety of hand-forming techniques used to create functional objects. Hand-forming techniques will include pinch pottery, slab and coil building, mold slumping, and texturizing surfaces. The objective of this class is not to make pieces to take home, but rather to learn what is possible and give students a chance to get their hands dirty and feel what it's like to work with clay. No previous experience with clay is needed for this class. This class is a prerequisite to attend open studio.

Halloween Spirit Painting with the Sorcerer Mark Crow

Come and join us for a magical Halloween Spirit Painting workshop led by the talented sorcerer, Mark Crow. Mark ensures that all classes are suitable for beginners, guiding you through each step to create a piece you'll be proud of. This workshop focuses on a painting style that combines a relaxed approach with semi-realistic elements, emphasizing the joy of the artistic process. Get ready for an enjoyable and enchanting experience!

Clay Art Academy

This special, clay-only Art Academy is for 11-14 year old students who want an immersive clay experience. Throughout the six-week session, Clay Art Academy students will learn and practice foundational skills in handbuilding and glazing. At least three projects will be finished each six-week session and students can expect to make both functional and decorative pieces. Due to the nature of the medium and the high temperature fires, student work is occasionally damaged or a loss. We use these rare instances to teach students resilience and persistence. We do not offer make up classes.

Enameling on Copper - September

Join us to learn how to enamel on copper using a kiln! You will use fine powders of colored glass to create a pair of earrings or two pendants.

Beginner Procreate Class

Join us for an immersive beginner Procreate class, designed to introduce you to the essentials of digital illustration using Procreate. Over two 2-hour sessions, you'll explore the basic tools and features of the program, and then apply your new skills to create a stunning graphic fall landscape. By the end of the class, you'll have completed your very own illustration, which we will make into a 11x17in print for you to take home. Whether you're new to digital art or looking to refine your skills, this class offers the perfect creative experience.
