Are you searching for a beginner's painting project? Join instructor Mark Crow to create a beautiful fall barn landscape! You will practice the art of painting loosely for a semi-realistic look. Whether you gift your finished painting to a loved one or showcase it in your home, it will surely become a treasured piece of art.

Let instructor Kim Harrison introduce you to an exciting new medium, alcohol ink.  Alcohol inks are rubbing alcohol based inks that have incredibly vibrant colors. The inks can be thinned and cleaned with rubbing alcohol. You will learn several different techniques with the inks and will complete a small painting on Yupo paper in class.

Keep track of your reading list or pick your favorite books with a book stack embroidery design! We will learn back stitch and filler stitches such as satin stitch to decorate our books and you will have the option of adding your own titles to the design! We will also go over everything from transferring the design to finishing the project. No experience required!

 

In this two-day intensive, students will be introduced to both of the main styles of wood turning: spindle and bowl. Both styles offer unique challenges, techniques, and uses. Students will also learn how to sharpen the basic turning tools as well as the process for finishing with oils. Students will leave with completed projects ready to decorate the home. 

 

In this course, students explore the basic physical properties of clay by practicing a variety of hand-forming techniques used to create functional objects. Hand-forming techniques will include pinch pottery, slab and coil building, mold slumping, and texturizing surfaces. The objective of this class is not to make pieces to take home, but rather to learn what is possible and give students a chance to get their hands dirty and feel what it's like to work with clay. No previous experience with clay is needed for this class. This class is a prerequisite to attend  open studio.
