Introduction to Wheel Throwing 2 will offer the continued practice of centering and creating a cylinder vessel. Demonstration and discussion on advanced surface decoration and glazing techniques will also be covered. Students should have previously taken the Introduction to Wheel Throwing 1 to participate in this class. During this class, students are eligible for instructional open studio time.

 We are happy to announce a full six-week roster of summer art camps this year for children ages 6-14. Each week we will explore a different artist in depth, creating works inspired by their medium, subject matter, philosophy, and life. Each 4 day camp will include a combination of two dimensional and three dimensional projects, and will be divided into a 6-10 year old age group and an 11-14 year old group. As always, we will learn a lot, play, explore, and expand our understanding of art and the world around us!

Instruction will include students’ skills in the areas of general properties of clay, throwing on the wheel, and glazing. This is a class that will allow you to get your hands dirty, make mistakes, and get the feel of the wheel. No previous experience in clay is needed for this class. Come learn about and enjoy this fun, loose style of screen printing! You will use stencils, screens, and ink cards to build up layers of color to create a fun abstract monoprint. You can go further with your completed monoprint to create cards or other paper objects.
