Join us this week as we transform the beauty and delicacy of the insect and plant world into beautiful artworks! We will learn about the bugs and plants in our own backyard, have artist scavenger hunts, and imagine a new bug into being.

Intro to Block Printing: Linocut

Learn the basics of block printing with linoleum in this 2 day workshop. Participants will be instructed in the basics of carving linoleum, inking and printing, as well as more advanced methods such as multicolor printing, multiblock registration, and hand burnishing. Carving tools and linoleum will be provided. Paper will also be included. However, students are encouraged to bring their own materials to print on, such as t-shirts or fabrics, other printmaking papers, or tote bags.

Holiday Wreath

Decorate your own personal wreath with natural assorted pinecones, seedpods, nuts, leaves, and acorns. Make it your own! There will be gold and silver paint, ribbons, and anything else I can find in my studio that would enhance a holiday wreath. Your finished piece can be hung on a door or wall or placed on a table with a candle in the center. You will be able to use your creation for years to come.
