Join local textile artist Miriam Young for handspinning in community on Tuesdays from 3:30 - 5:30 (beginning on January 21). All experience levels are welcome. Please bring your own spinning wheel. Under the guidance of a professional ceramic artist, you’ll learn the foundational techniques of pinching, coiling, and slab construction. Throughout the course, you’ll work on instructor-designed projects that highlight each of these techniques and help you develop and refine your skills step by step. Glass Open Studio is available for students who have completed the Introduction to Glass Fusing and/or the Introduction to Stained Glass class. The goal of the Glass Open Studio is for students to work freely within regular open studio hours with the equipment they have been trained to use. This is not a led class. We hope to create an environment where students can experiment. For glass fusing users, instructions are given on how to have pieces fired during class. Instructions are also posted in the studio. For students wanting to work bigger than 15x15, please reach out for additional information.
